Four Movies to Get You in the Spooky Spirit

What’s up guys, gays, and gworls! I’m back at it like a crack addict with some movie recommendations to get you into the spooky spirit for this month. Shall we start?

Dracula

Okay, so I’m going to start this off with a cult classic known as Dracula. I’m talking about the 1931 version of Dracula! This was one of the movies that started off the whole horror movie franchise. This movie isn’t scary per say, but it sure does get the job done with getting you ready for Halloween. If you want to, I suggest watching the Spanish version versus the English version. I don’t know why, but that one is my fave.

Dracula is available to rent for $2.99 on Amazon Video and Vudu. It’s also available to rent for $3.99 on iTunes

The Conjuring Movie Universe

If you’re willing to risk it or if you’re into this kind of stuff, I say watch any movie from the Conjuring movie universe. Any of them will suffice except for the second Conjuring. The first Conjuring is an original in my opinion like it’s the bomb! Same with Annabelle. The good sis was really killing these people years back with NO remorse! I haven’t got to “The Nun” so I can’t tell you whether it’s worth the watch or not, but from what I heard, I would say save ya coin! Also, BEWARE, all these movies are based on a true story. So, if this ain’t ya thing then steer clear of these movies.

All Conjuring movies are available on damn near every platform for rent and for purchase so just get it wherever you get your movies.

Hotel Transylvania

If you have children and you don’t want them to be frightened or exposed to any of this, I say go watch Hotel Transylvania. This movie is a movie about how all creatures of folklore and myth stay come from different places of the world to celebrate their “monster” way of living and unwind from the daily spook. Things begin to spiral when Dracula encounters a human that has stumbled into this hotel. Things get difficult when the human starts to fall in love with Dracula’s daughter. This movie is honestly a good one and I would definitely recommend your children to watch this. It gives you a plot along with a good ki-ki too.

Hotel Transylvania is available on Amazon Video, Vudu, and iTunes for rent at $3.99. It’s also available for physical purchase at any Walmart or Target.

If indie films are your thing and you want to support your indie producers, then Lights Out is for you. Lights Out is an extension of the YouTube short film version. This movie is very creepy and the reason for Diana’s existence is what’s scarier because it’s TOO relatable to many. This movie has subpar acting and a plot that could have been better, but it’s still full of jump-scares and its seat-gripping action. If you’re going to watch it, I suggest watching it with a group of friends like I did. The reactions are priceless (haha)!

Lights Out is available on Amazon Video, Vudu, and iTunes for rent at $3.99.
