Hey guys, gays, and gworls! I’m back at it like a crack addict with a review on the new tv series “Doom Patrol”!
“DOOM PATROL re-imagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of Super-Heroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele, Negative Man aka Larry Trainor, Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr and Crazy Jane led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief. Each member of the Doom Patrol suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found their purpose through The Chief, coming together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence. Following the mysterious disappearance of The Chief, these reluctant heroes will find themselves in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.”
This DC Universe original took a group of nobodies and created a hysterical masterpiece! Doom Patrol is a superhero team of people who got a second chance at life, whether they wanted to or not. Cliffe the Robotman survived with just his brain, Larry AKA Negative Man survived with a skimp amount of skin, and Rita AKA Elastigirl hurling her face over her shoulder—and all of them survived because Niles Caulder AKA Chief made it all happen! He also helped Beast Boy and the good sis Crazy Jane. I legit resonate with Jane and some of her “Underground” personalities!
With the way season one of Titans ended, I was a bit skeptical and taken aback about how Doom Patrol would turn out, and I’m glad to say I was proven wrong. This show is like what “The Hangover” would be if they had powers. If you’re a fan of Doom Patrol, then you should watch it. If you’re a fan of superhero shows, then you should watch it. If you’re a fan of comedy and satire, then you should watch it. This is honestly a show for everybody (minus kids because y’know… cursing and blood). This show deserves a rating no lower than a 9.5 out of 10 to be honest!
Doom Patrol is available exclusively on the DC Universe streaming service with new episodes releasing every Friday at 9 am!
