Hey guys, gays, and gworls! I decided that since I haven’t posted any comic book content lately, I should share with y’all what I am reading.
Kimetsu No Yaiba
First up is Kimetsu no Yaiba AKA Demon Slayer. I’ve talked about the show on here and I went into a little detail on my podcast about it, but the truth is I’m not all the way caught up. I’m currently in chapter 111 which is in the sort of in the middle of the Swordsmith Village Arc. Muichiro (Mist Pillar) forgets almost everything as soon as it comes to mind, and it’s hilarious because I feel like he’s me in Pillar form. He also knows how to use a freaking blade!!! Without spoiling it, just know that a character from the beginning comes back guns blazing!
Kimetsu no Yaiba is available to read on ComiXology and the Shonen Jump app.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Next up on my list is the Mighty Morphin Power Ranger series. This series was a way overdue read that I’m mad I didn’t get into earlier. I remember I started reading it last year and was a bit lost, mostly because my attention was everywhere but in the series. I recently sat down, started the series over, and whew, this is the content I live for! I’m about five issues in and I’m already psyched to get to the ‘Shattered Grid’ storyline where the majority of the rangers from all timelines fight together. It’s also nice to see a less kid-friendly take on the rangers which I was looking for.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is available to read on ComiXology.
X-Men: Dawn of X
Next up on the list is the Dawn of X! This storyline stretches over new series of X-Men comics which tells the story that takes place after the ‘House of X/Powers of X’ storyline (phenomenal btdubbs). I love how each comic sheds light on all the different teams, different characters, and how they’re adjusting to life on Krakoa while still being bomb superheroes. I would have to say, as of right now, ‘Marauders’ is shaping up to be my new favorite X-Men series! To see Kitty and friend hop on the boat and take charge… I live. ‘Fallen Angels’ also had me hooked within the first few pages. Psylocke is about to show up and show OUT! Y’all aren’t ready for the good sis!
Dawn of X comics are available on ComiXology and physically at a comic book store near you.
What’s Next on the Docket?
Once I catch up with MMPR I’ll start reading Walter Simonson’s comic book run of ‘The Mighty Thor.’ I’ve been re-watching the 2010 Avengers animated show on Disney+, and it showed me that I haven’t ever jumped into my Thor bag at all! Lots of people suggested that I read Walter Simonson’s run because of the art style and most of the juicy stuff happens then. All they had to say was Beta Ray Bill and I was sold!
After I catch up with Kimetsu no Yaiba, I don’t really know what other manga to read. So if any of you guys have any recommendations, please feel free to comment it down below or DM it to my personal Twitter!
