Hey guys, gays, and gworls! I’m back at it like a crack addict with another “Read With Me.” This week, I’ll be talking about Jujutsu Kaisen’s “Cursed Womb Arc!”
Following the events of Nobara, Megumi, and Yuji’s training, they’re instantly sent on their first mission. Their mission is to discover the problem, save any humans there, and exorcise any demons. During their mission, they all become separated and out in serious predicaments, one where Yuji had given full control of his body to Sukuna. You have Megumi on the search to find where the demon had taken Nobara, Nobara protecting the kid, and Yuji fighting a high-level demon way out of his league.
We were given a lot of information and a lot of action all within a short arc. Nonetheless, this was an amazing arc. We learned the power levels of the demons, we learned that Megumi has a strong power that he yet doesn’t know how to use. Possessed Yuji was able to call Megumi out on it. Also, I think it’s crazy how powerful Sukuna is when he has full control of Yuji’s body. What makes it even crazier is that it’s only with Yuji having swallowed two of the twenty fingers. Another power we were introduced to was something called “Domain Expansion.” Domain expansion is when a jujutsu sorcerer or demon construct an enclosed space that’s adjacent to their powers. It also gives a major power boost to the creator of the domain. We’ve seen Sukuna’s, which is Malevolent Shrine.
I think it’s a bit crazy that they gave a group of first-year students a mission that’s meant for sorcerers more powerful than them. They pretty much sent Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi to their death. Had it not been for Sukuna gaining full control of Yuji’s body, the entire team might’ve died then and there. But they didn’t come out unscathed. Sukuna used Yuji’s heart as a bargaining chip. He legit tore it out of Yuji’s chest and tried to bargain with Megumi. That bargain took a huge turn for the worst. Megumi had to use all of his power just to keep Sukuna at bay and have Yuji turn back to normal. In doing so, Yuji had died too… Or did he? That, we’ll find out in the next story arc!
