Hey guys, gays, and gworls! I’m back at it like a crack addict for ‘Read With Me’, and today we’ll be talking about part one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s “Goodwill Event Arc.”
After the big battle with Mahito, Gojo feels like Yuji is ready to show face again and join his school in participating in the Goodwill Event. Not only are his classmates shocked, but so are the competing schools. Everyone thought the boy (Yuji) with Sukuna living inside of him was dead after an event. Now, what happens when the master of Kyoto High wants Yuji dead and the others just want to have some cursed fun?
It was great being acquainted with their sister school because it gave us the opportunity to both, introduce new characters and to show off new cursed powers. Y’all thought a talking panda was strange? Well, Kyoto introduces a robot by the name of Ultimate Mekamaru who knows how to utilize cursed energy. We also got Momo who closely resembles a young witch. We also got the mad powerhouse Toudou. This man is as tough as a walking statue. The force (and desire for big butts) is strong with this one! Toudou is also rebellious. He defies his master and would kill one of his classmates if they were to get in his way of just wanting to pummel people.
Before I get started, I just want to take back the statement I made about how this arc would possibly be boring. It’s nothing less than greatness!
It’s crazy how everyone at Yuji’s school is strategic in how they’re going to win the first game and smart for throwing Yuji out there to distract Toudou from killing anyone. Things seem to be going well until the team becomes scattered and they recognize that the other students from Kyoto are quickly converging onto Yuji. They’re following through with the director’s orders, but Jujutsu high doesn’t know that.
Since this arc is a bit longer, I’ve decided to break it up into two parts. So if you’ve read this far and spoiled it for yourself just know that you still have until next Tuesday to catch up for our conversation on part two of the “Goodwill Event” arc. Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read on the Shonen Jump app.
