Jujutsu Kaisen – Origin of Obedience Arc

Hey guys, gays, and gworls! I bet you didn’t think that we would be on this arc so soon. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago we started reading together. Now here we are six arcs later. Let’s hop right into Jujutsu Kaisen’s “Origin of Obedience” arc!

Three deaths just a month apart where the victims all died the same way. They all experienced automatic door problems right before dying to a curse. Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi are sent on a mission by the school to solve and investigate this. Things began to become complicated once it brought Megumi back to his old school’s stomping grounds. Their investigation brought them to the spawn point of this lingering curse at the Yasohachi Bridge where students used to bungee jump from often. Things escalated when it was discovered that not only did this lingering curse influence many people, it also influenced Megumi’s sister Tsukimi. Can they defeat the curse before it takes his sister’s life?

I loved this arc not for the action but for the platonic intimacy displayed within the group of first-year Jujutsu students. Within this arc, we were able to learn more about Megumi and his past all while showing how this investigation assists him in opening up to Yuji and Nobara. Learning that Megumi was selfish, and a bully wasn’t a big surprise to me. What surprised me was the fact that he has a sibling by the name of Tsukimi that was the opposite of Megumi. We also were shown Gojo’s mentorship started early with Megumi when his father had fled. Also, have y’all seen his domain expansion? SICKKK!

What interested me that I hope we learn more about in future arcs is the fact that Tsukimi was under a curse not linked to the bridge. She’s under a sleeping curse that I would like to know about. How was she put under the curse? Who put her under the curse? Does it have anything with the Ze’nin bloodline? Does it have anything to do with Gojo? These are questions that I NEED answers to!

Not only did we learn more about Megumi’s life, but we also learned about the three special grade items that were taken with Sukuna’s fingers. There was a woman who had nine miscarriages. All nine unborn babies possessed cursed energy. Mahito and the gang got their hands on three of them and used them by allowing the unborn babies to take control of human hosts.

Nobara and Yuji had to fight two of the three cursed people and my GOD Nobara is really that gworl! Her resonance ability and her ruthlessness shocked me this arc.

Also, I was here stanning for a Nobara and Yuji team-up. Don’t get it twisted this is still a Todo and Yuji stan account!

Speaking of Todo, he had elected Yuji to be a part of the first class. Whew, I can’t wait to see how this plays out!

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read on the Shonen Jump app from the App Store and Play Store.

Continue reading because next week we’ll be diving into the next story arc. See you then!

Gay and Geeky,

Michael
